Yeah, Makoto would definitely do something like that. Is Alain particularly interested in Chiyo, or is she mostly a curiosity that he can use to get to her family? Regardless, taking Chiyo would probably not end well. Unless she freezes up, I doubt she'd go quietly, and between work, home, and just generally not being completely alone very often, it has the potential to make a real mess. I'm not sure Alain would be that concerned with most messes, but they'd still be there, and Chiyo might be able to take advantage of a messy kidnapping to escape. And if it's at the temple, he would have to keep most of the family away or there'd be fighting.
