Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about the same?
About the same. I'm a tad prolific, though most of it's been in PRNS fandom.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2003?
Oh, my. Hurricanger. Never in my life would I have imagined I'd *see* a Sentai series, much less start writing fic for it. (Ikkou, Isshu, stop getting ideas, please?)
I didn't *write* any new pairings (unless you count Blake/Tori from PRNS) or write in any new genres.
What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest.
"Ghetto Wear". It was coherent, considering the characters went ever way except what I wanted, and I didn't get the happy ending I wanted. Still, it's probably the only PRNS fic out there with CyberCam as a major character. It grew on me.
Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.) What did you learn from them?
In "Ghetto Wear", I had to write the story from the POV of someone who had absolutely *no* idea of what was going on around her. The amazing thing is that it *worked*, and Wendy (the POV character) didn't turn into a Mary Sue. (Yes, she did have the bad/good luck to have CyberCam fall for her. But that was about it in the Sue department.)
I know that the story worked because I purposefully restrained myself when writing Wendy. I had to remind myself that the average person didn't know who the Rangers were, and it worked out pretty well.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
Fanfic? Don't know, other than echoing the popular sentiment of "Finish my WIPs".
On the Profic side, I might try to restructure/write that story/novel that developed out of some OCs in one of my PR universes.
