Untitled Katie/Trip ficlet
I’m in the midst of novel-writing, but I’m putting it aside this weekend for doing some archiving/other things. To get into the mood, here is a totally random Katie/Trip ficlet.
Katie peered into the workshop, where Trip was obviously working on something low-tech. Well, not low-tech for the time period they were in, but still low-tech. It was amazing that Trip not only put up with it, but was more than happy to tinker.
But then, Trip liked to tinker. That’s what she adored about him. Her quiet teammate had no problems with playing around with anything he got his hands on, smiling that wide, wide grin of his no matter what it was. And he would turn that same wide, adorable grin on her, when she brought him coffee or lunch or hauled him to the couch for her latest favorite program. It was obvious that Trip loved life, loved everything about him, and if the boy would just realize that he was adorable too, then he might truly shine.
Until then, Katie was willing to wait. To watch. To smile. To encourage. Because Trip’s smile was worth the effort.
