New Coral Island update!
So, Coral Island is about to get an update, and I'm absolutely jazzed about it.
I've had some criticisms of Coral Island in the past (the graphics card requirement; the fact that rank A is so frustrating to achieve unless you enjoy collecting), but I'm glad to see that they are fixing some of the things that drove me off.
Here's the awesome things that are getting added:
* You'll get a visible indication that you're giving a loved gift.
* You'll get notified if there's a heart event available that you haven't seen and some helpful hints to find it. In this game, you have to see the heart events in order so this is a welcome change.
* You get your 2nd farming location much sooner - it's no longer locked behind rank A.
* Getting to the higher ranks - A and B - is slightly easier as the points requirements for these two ranks got reduced. B wasn't too terrible but trying to get to rank A turned me off, so this is a welcome change.
There's one minor tradeoff - certain animal-related tasks now cost energy - but I figure by the time I'm doing a lot of animal stuff I'll have a fair amount of energy, access to the hot springs, and probably the autofeeder/autopetter/autocollector items. Also, this trades off with the fact that you no longer expend energy when you intend to hit something and miss.
Of minor note, it looks like there are a couple of general store-related quests, some woohooing action (doesn't do much for me, but might for other people), and hopefully they will have squashed a cutscene that kept repeating. There's a new cooking channel to help you jazz up your recipe collection. There's apparently a new mystery rock that can spawn good things or bad things as well.
