estirose: Mio from Makai Senki looks at an old book. (Mio Makai Senki w book)

Things I have learned today from trying to run a prompt challenge on AO3.

* You can put in a tagset, but that stops people from putting in characters/fandoms not in the tagset.
* If you don't specify a tagset, it'll let them enter anything, as long as it's canonical. If it isn't canonical, you're SOL.
* Fortunately, I found out that you can specify 0 fandoms/characters/relationships required, and it'll happily let you leave those blank.
* Weirdly enough, you can answer a prompt with non-canonical tags, which means that you can answer prompts with no fandom attached.
* I also learned how to spell "Tir Na Nog" correctly, but that's not relevant to the rest of the post.

I'm so glad that everybody's being so nice about this so far, because there's not much documentation on tag sets. :(

I didn't know that about the tagset in a prompt challenge as I've only run exchanges on AO3. Even then though, I'm super glad that my co-mod used to be a tester and runs the back-end, and I played with the options months before I started.

Good luck with your prompt challenge! :)
