One messy set (or two) of AO3 tags

There are two closely related fandoms: Starman (1984), which is a movie, and Starman (TV), which is a 1986 TV series that continues the storyline. Understandably, some characters overlap. Right now I'm figuring out how to phrase things so I can put a ticket on the mess and am doubtful it would be cleared up in time for Yuletide.

One of these is a really easy fix: Ben Wiley/Wylie is George Fox's main assistant during the TV series. He doesn't appear in the movie at all and I'm not sure why he's in the movie tags.

Scott Hayden (Jr) is a much messier problem. There are 3 Scott Haydens that you could count between the two fandom tags:
Scott Hayden (Sr?), the deceased husband of Jenny Hayden, who appears in some home movies in the early part of the movie. His DNA is used by the titular Starman.
Scott Hayden | Starman, who is tagged in the series as Paul Forrester | Starman (same character, different human clone bodies), the titular Starman, a peaceful alien who clones a human form - first because he's stuck, and then to come back to help his son.
Scott Hayden Jr, who is one of the main characters of the TV series. He's conceived during the movie, but doesn't appear there. He's the son of Jenny Hayden and the Starman, but you could count the deceased Scott Hayden as a genetic donor as well.

Almost every Scott Hayden tagged in Starman 1984 is one of the first two; the one exception is obviously the series Scott Hayden (Jr). He's still tagged in the movie tags, sigh.

ETA: There is a neat fic, written pre-series, published in a fanzine and posted to AO3 years later on the movie tag, of a very different version of Scott Hayden Jr; he would be a movie-based OC though, and not the Scott we know and love!

Were you looking to nominate one or the other for Yuletide? Because I was thinking about the TV series.

Hopefully just a glitch. Hopefully, they'll also fix the tag.

FWIW, I loved the show so much while it was on the air and remember it fondly -- I have a vague sense that it was on Friday nights and I had to stay up for it? -- though I haven't rewatched in decades. I've never actually watched the movie (I've been meaning to for, again, decades).

Good luck getting it sorted out!

The series is out on DVD. Well, so's the movie, for that matter.
