This follows up "Passing A Note of Friendship", which takes place in a GARO Makai Senki high school AU. (Note that this story and the last one feature characters that are a major part of episode 19 and this contains spoilers of sorts for one character's backstory.) It's pretty G-rated, considering the POV character's views.
Summary: He's not sure about his brother dating someone, but he trusts Mio.
"Don't worry," Mio signed as she and Sigma walked down the hallway. "Leo will be fine."
Sigma sighed and responded back. "I just hope my brother's all right with her. She's an unknown quantity."
"People you don't know usually are," Mio teased, smiling up at him. "She might not have the same beliefs or background as you and I and Leo do, but it doesn't mean she won't be good for him. He needs to be less shy."
He wished he could have her confidence, but he trusted her, and that was what was important. Mio thought that this girl would be good for Leo, therefore Sigma trusted that the girl would be good for Leo. And, as he reminded himself, it wasn't like Leo was hurrying off to get married - Sigma would find a good girl for him that shared his family's beliefs, but in the meantime, at least his brother might come off as less of a complete doofus around women, which could only help.
"I just… she's not one of ours," he told her. "I want him to be more confident, but we were born to compliment each other. I don't want her pulling him away from what he's meant to be."
He knew he shouldn't worry, but he didn't want his little brother turned away from his potential and his heritage for one girl. Who knew what she might tempt him into, abandoning the family and everything. But he had to trust Mio. Mio knew best.
It didn't make it any easier.
