Obviously, fics that were posting at the time tended to get more hits, though that doesn’t prevent the “Inside Out” storyline, my oldest fics there, from getting their share as well. And of course, multi-chaptered fics tend to show up higher than others; in the “Harder to be Brave” storyline, I get more hits relatively speaking for “Sunrises”, even though if you averaged it per chapter, it does worse than “Harder to be Brave”. And while “Losing Touch” (which was getting its final two chapters posted in June) got 200 hits in one day (June 30), it’s 6 chapters long on fanfiction.net, which probably brought things up a bit.

And, of course, new doesn’t mean hitting the top ten. “The Necessity of Heroes”, which was posted mid-June, only racked up 8 hits that month; “Only a Pirate’s Dreams” was posted late on June 30th, and only got 13 hits. (It may hit the top ten for July; I don’t know, because it features an OC and is from her POV.)
