I go to FFN when I want to read huge quantities of largely trashy fic. There's some good stuff, but that pales in comparison to the sheer quantity of stuff. I like reading on AO3 much more for a few reasons, but notably searching tags cross-fandom. Sometimes I get a hankering for a certain type of fic and am not terribly concerned with actually knowing the fandom.
