Yes, I'm playing Fatal Frame 2 (PS2) and Project Zero 2 (Wii) more or less at the same time. I'm at Chapter 5 on the PS2 and 2 on the Wii. To keep them straight, PS2 ones are going here and Wii ones are going on Tumblr.
This is short, but right now I'm chasing down the key to get Mayu out of her prison. It's in Osaka house. On the way there, I had about three sightings of pre-nasty Sae (she was weeping), then I headed back to Osaka. Checked around Osaka, and in the Family Altar room, I got the folklorist Makabe giving me a hint about heading back to Itsuki.
Well, I knew, due to spoilers, that I had a fight coming my way, so I headed into it. It's another nasty two-ghost battle, this time Masumi and Miyako. Really, did I have to go through this? I survived with the help of a Stone Mirror and three Herbal Medicines.
Headed back to Itsuki, he told me about the secret mechanism in the Family Altar. Got through that, got downstairs, got more film and a mirror to replace the one I lost in the last fight... and met a Mourner, the Fatal Frame 2 equivalent of Fatal Frame 1's Blinded. Good news: he doesn't teleport and you can run more than two steps. Bad news: You really need to run more than two steps because this guy has one broad reach!
Survived him, only to go upstairs and have a fight with Miyako. *headdesk* I exited out at that point, figuring I'd redo Itsuki, the mourner, and Miyako later.
ETA: Okay, redid Itsuki, the mourner, and Miyako, and did both fights much better this time. So, saved, headed back to Kurosawa (because as much as I hate the place, that's where Mayu stuck herself), fought two more mourners (thankfully with a ton more room), and then got to where Mayu was... only to find that she'd gotten herself out!
So, another pair of scenes. One where I'm controlling Mayu, who went who knows where, but it's back to the area between Kiryuu and Tachibana, and a cutscene about how Itsuki tried to help Yae and Sae escape, Sae fell in a manner just like Mayu, and got captured. I ran out of there and saved at the lantern just inside the Kurosawa gates.
Various mutterings at the screen:
"Not you two at once!" (to Masumi and Miyako)
"Itsuki would know more about this mechanism" (paraphrased)
"Okay, is this a clue that I need to go be mistaken for Yae again?" (Me)
"Yae! Come here!" (Itsuki)
"I'm not Yae!" (Me)
"No drowned lady please, no drowned lady please...." (Me on the bridge back to Kurosawa house)
"Yae will come back for me. She will...." (Sae)
"She hanged herself at Himuro, sorry." (Me, because Yae is a hostile ghost in Fatal Frame I)
"Miku, er, Mayu, did you get out again? Of course you did. *sigh*" (Me)
"No ghosts please, no ghosts please...." (Me, running back out after discovering Mayu had gotten loose and gone off again)
