New Powerbooks! Yay!
Sep. 16th, 2003 06:22 amHit the link on Safari's bar for Apple by accident this morning and found that there were new Powerbooks. The 15" is now an AlBook like the 12" and 17". I didn't look at the specs for all three, but here's what I can tell from the 17" (since I'm intimately familiar with mine).
The 17" now goes up to 1.33 ghz, which is definitely not bad if I were worried about speed. Memory now goes up to 2 gigabytes. (I can live right now.) I think the graphics chip might be a bit faster (thank goodness... my 'puter, I'm embarassed to say, has problems with full-screen video). The big thing for me is that the computer does, by *default*, USB 2.0. (Think I'm going to be getting my 'puter its first PC card....).
All in all, not a bad update... and a definite good one.
