Strange to think I have only a few days left at work before I head off to my new job. (I'm making this public because most everybody at works knows I've got a new job.) I don't have to bring lunch Thursday (pizza for leaving people) and Friday (lunch for people who had birthdays in the last two months).

Anyway, my latest DVD from Netflix is 84 Charing Cross Road, which is based on a book by the same name by Helene Hanff. It's a lovely story, nonfiction, about the friendship of two people who have one thing in common - a love for books. One is an American scriptreader/writer who loves English literature; the other is an employee at a bookstore. The story, told primarily in letters between Helene Hanff and Frank Doel, starts simply, but slowly grows on you as Helene's friendship grows on the employees of 84 Charing Cross Road. This movie, set in the 40's and 50's, charms me every time with its elegance.
