I was a tad late on starting the [livejournal.com profile] finalauraburst update today because I ended up running across a rather old series I remembered watching when it aired in 1988.

It was called "Werewolf" and featured a fellow named John J York who played a guy named Eric (or Erik, I'm not sure). He ended up getting turned into a werewolf in episode 1, and spent the rest of the broadcast run trying to find the head of his bloodline and kill that head so he could be cured. Werewolves were not cute and cuddly in this universe, to put it politely. This was a standard Fugitive-type setup with a werewolf twist, so it was hardly revolutionary television.

Whenever Eric was going to change into a werewolf, a mark (I think it was a pentagram with circle) appeared on his hand (and often bled). He did not have control (for the most part, I believe) over his changes.

I was surprised on how much I remembered the episodes I saw (I saw three of them out of 28), considering this aired nearly 20 years ago. I'll go and start from the beginning (depending on how long the series stays up) and rewatch them to see how many more of them I remember.
