Mar. 8th, 2011 04:45 pmI find it interesting what fic I archive where.
For example, I post fic where I care about the feedback to AO3, though I also archive fic there as kind of an easter egg sort of deal if I wrote a related fic and wanted to give readers a followup. For example, I wrote a futurefic coda to the "Harder to Be Brave" storyline, where Ziggy is dealing with someone suicidal and reflecting back on things and posted it there because the rest of the storyline is there.
I use Ghostly to archive fics eventually, mostly older stuff or things that I want a copy of on my own site; most of the stuff there is on other archives or came from LJ/DW. For example, I've been archiving my Yuletide fics as of late.
If I care more about the hit count than anything else, I post to fanfiction.net. Usually I get a fairly respectable hit count, especially for fics in quieter fandoms. (It took a week for one of my Final Fantasy hits to fall off the first page, a Hana Yori Dango fic has been on the front page of that section for week, and it took a year for an Earth:Final Conflict one to do so, where one of my Power Rangers fics usually lasts a day to a day and a half.) So, the fic that I'm hoping to post there tonight (which is Dillon/Ziggy if you squint) will get there because I want to see how it does, compared to my series and multi-chapter fics for RPM.
ETA: I also want to cheer the fact that I seem to have non-RPM muses back. So, looks like I'm going to be writing Narumi Sokichi and co for a while, or at least I hope!
