Oops, new fandom, I think.
Mar. 17th, 2015 08:42 pmI have gotten myself a copy of Hatoful Boyfriend. This is a Japanese dating sim with the quirk that all of your potential boyfriends (alas, no girlfriends, Hanako Games this is not) are... birds. There are a couple of characters that seem to be romance paths - your dependable best friend, your homeroom teacher (!?), an aristocrat, the school heartbreaker, the solitary guy who spends all his time in the library, and the school doctor, who is rather creepy. I seem to be on a path with either the library guy or the homeroom teacher, with the best friend being a third option.
I picked up this game because I'd kept reading that it was a really good game. However, all the let's plays on Youtube were either incomplete or gave the POV character some... interesting... names that made it hard to watch. So I'm playing instead.
At least it was translated officially into English about 2-3 years ago, which is more than I can say for the Korean survival horror game White Day (or about a third of the Fatal Frame franchise, counting Spirit Camera).
I really shouldn't be picking up new fandoms, as I really need to pass my current class and I've got a little bit of a cliffhanger with one of my fics, but I guess I am.
