Yuletide nomination musings
Oct. 2nd, 2019 11:54 amSo, Yuletide is around the corner, and I have more things I want to nominate than slots as usual.
Here's my list and some of the pros and cons of nominating them:
Fatal Frame I, II, or III: I usually nominate III if I have to specify a specific game, but I want characters that aren't always in that game. Kirie, Sae, Yae, Itsuki, Mutsuki, and Chitose are not in III, for example. I have a crackship in Miku/Sae, and this year I'm craving more Miku interaction with Kirie this year as well as friendship between the kids of the Kurosawa and Tachibana families. I'm sure someone will write me fic if I request it but the characters have to be nominated first.
Fantasy Life: This one's a bit weaker, because I don't have a character list to tie to it yet. I'm leaning towards some Porto Puerto characters, though. (ETA: And/or my favorite arranged marriage to Damien trope!)
Another Brick in the Mall: no characters, pure worldbuilding in a game about building a very successful mall. it lends itself to retail shenanigans from the workers, but I'm afraid that nobody would write for it because it's virtually unknown. (Random part 1 of a playthrough.)
Okaeri: This is a little Japanese indie horror game set in the VHS era about a middle school girl coming home to some unexpected events. It lends itself to some nice worldbuilding. (Gamer Gab's playthrough.)
Power Rangers Dino Charge: Probably someone will nominate it, but maybe not with Tyler and Shelby.
T.O.P - FANXY RED: First time considering a song nom! This group started in China as FFC-Acrush, lost and gained members, moved to South Korea, and changed their name to FANXY RED (pronounced Fancy Red). Very tomboyish/androgynous girl group, just (re-)debuted with the album ACTIVATE. I considered their English-language "Holla", but it turns out that T.O.P (sung in both Korean and some dialect of Chinese) is more relevant based on translations of the lyrics. It's a love song, sung by a girl group to a female fanbase, and has other femslashy implications. Nominating the album is also a possibility. (Video with lyrics in Korean and English and Official video (Chinese version))
