Dear brain,
I have a very hard chapter to do homework for, homework that I must completely understand by Tuesday. I don't mind updating WIPs since I have my remix assignment done and posted (and my DOINK assignment is waiting for me to review canon), but I don't think it's a good time to rerecord my Fatal Frame playthrough, no matter how interesting it might be.
Let's just celebrate the fact that I figured out the key command for "remove others' decorations" in Mirimagia (I hate the amount of decorating someone decided to do in my village and considered moving).
ETA: Some discussion of Magical Diary under cut.
Magical Diary both pays homage to and pokes gentle fun of Harry Potter and some parts of the HP fandom, in the form of a dating sim (of sorts). One of the characters is Professor Grabiner, who is pretty much a fanon Snape. He is also one of your romance options for the game.
Now, my favorite character to try for on romance is Virginia, partly because she's asexual (her sexuality is not stated in canon, but she has no interest in going any farther than cuddles and hugs) and I really like that. However, I just replayed it twice - once to get Virginia's brother Donald, and one to get Big Steve, one of the seniors. It was in the second recent game that I made a really wrong choice and ended up with my character married to Grabiner. It was a one-year-and-one-day marriage, but it was still pretty messed up.
It lead to a very interesting path, one that I managed to navigate through by mostly ignoring my own instincts and going with their opposites. By the end, you find out why Grabiner acts the way he does and can actually get a kiss from him if you want. I went with the friends option instead of the husband option, because I didn't want to go too fast with him. Turned out pretty nice - if you're thoughtful and ethical enough to not pry into his past (you hear about it from the other professor in the game), you can get him smiling a lot more than frowning.
(If you have the game and want to see the storyline, take Blue Magic when Damien advises you to, especially late in the week. Admit the truth about the valentine to Grabiner. Run for treasurer and win. When you find him unconscious with the monster, choose to rescue him instead of running to help.)
