Alain thinks that they will eventually evolve/grow up to have human forms. Maybe. He's not too sure. They could remain the equivalent of the "mook" Ganma, which is what they are right now. Interestingly enough, the siblings speak a variant of the language that lower-level Ganma speak, altered to fit childhood pronunciation and human experience. (Alain can understand it somewhat.)
Alain definitely changed sides and sided with Takeru and Makoto. Which means that he's a traitor to the Ganma. Sometimes the human world confuses him, but he's getting used to it. Chiyo and the others don't realize how Ganma they are in some ways because Alain gets quite homesick.
