Notes on the agender Ganma universe

estiroseThis is the futurefic Kamen Rider Ghost universe I've been posting in that's pretty much been Jossed by episode 21.
Assumptions I used when I created this universe:
* Alain will become a good guy.
* Eyecons are the natural form of the Ganma and they can form Humanoid bodies at will.
* That the name is spelled "Ganma" and not "Gamma".
* That this has been going on for millennia and not just a few years.
Ganma reproduction, outward gender, society and family stuff:
* Ganma have a vague connection to humans, but got rid of their Humanoid forms long long ago and became genderless/agender.
* Ganma offspring can function from birth with a form of genetic memory. One of the first things they do is report to a bureaucrat-scientist their parent's identities (ID numbers for most Ganma). They are then assigned a profession as needed by society.
* Ganma who show talent in a particular field are allowed to assume a more human form and are given a name. If someone is clearly in the wrong field and they're needed in another field, they get switched to that field.
* If another royal child is needed, Ganma workers with the Emperor for a parent are evaluated for potential and then the chosen one is made to forget their former lives as workers.
* Even though Ganma do not have sex organs as such, they still use a vague two-gender system in reproduction, though the roles are interchangeable. A Ganma might serve in a male role in reproduction and a female role as needed the next time. Royals are required to reproduce as needed and are perceived to have superior traits, so actually reproduce more often than most Ganma. Ganma "matings" are considered consensual and incest is not taboo.
* A Ganma child is born as soon as they can live outside their gestating parent's body. This takes about a month (I originally postulated a week, but this goes better with Ganma lifespan.)
Chiyo's extended family and human-Ganma reproduction:
* Chiyo has two siblings (Candide and Alexis) with an unknown number of half-siblings from Alain. One of these half-siblings was with Makoto. The bureaucrats know the identity of the child but Alain and Makoto don't. It's still a sore spot with Makoto. Chiyo's mom is Kanon.
* Gazai Ganma (the painting Ganma) is still alive. He has a kid with Takeru named Gako who is outwardly female.
* Ganma and humans can safely interbreed because of the vague connection mentioned above. Most of the ones so far have been the Ganma way.
* Candide, Alexis, and Gako were all born the Ganma way. They all had standard "worker"/Commando Ganma appearances for most of Chiyo's childhood. While Ganma normally need help in assuming a human form, human hybrids can do so without assistance - they just need to figure out how. Candide and Alexis copied Chiyo while Gako tried to be a blend of Takeru and the women in her extended family.
* Chiyo's family consists of her, her siblings and parents, her uncle Makoto, her honorary uncles Takeru, Onari, Narita, and Shibuya, her honorary aunt Akari, Gazai and Gako. She doesn't consider any of her known relatives on her father's side related to her, but Alia/Aria considers herself related to Chiyo and her siblings.
* Nobody is still sure how Alain fathered Chiyo, but the theory is that Kanon's body somehow translated something analogous to human DNA in Alain's makeup into human(oid) DNA.
* Alain was incredulous when he found out that Chiyo would take nine months to be born and wouldn't function like a newborn Ganma. (Which wasn't entirely correct, since Chiyo does have a subconscious genetic memory, but nobody realized she did.) This resulted accidentally in Candide, who he was going to release just like he had every other child of his. He didn't realize that even with a genetic memory, Candide needed guidance to live in the human world. Alexis was more deliberate - when Kanon talked about having a sibling for Candide and Chiyo, Alain put his foot down and insisted on carrying Alexis to term.
* Gako (her name means 'art' or 'sketch' child) was actually born with Takeru as her 'mother'. Because of her parents, she's more passionate and far less conservative than Chiyo and her siblings. Like all Ganma, she has no incest taboo of any type and wouldn't mind having some kids with Chiyo.
* Chiyo is like her siblings in that she is essentially an Eyecon (with a physical, human body wrapped around it). She needs to eat, sleep and so on, but her human reproductive organs are pretty much for show and she's never had a period. She was less than delighted about this, as she wanted to get married, have kids, and leave home.
