The Sheepish Meme is still open for requests! Here are fics for the first two requests. Both are above the 3-sentence/100 word minimum because I do not write that short very easily.

[personal profile] edenfalling asked for "Villains by Necessity, relief", so I wrote a tiny post-book fic about one of Arcie's guild making his way home.

"Ah, my joints ache. Thank you again, my friend, I've been a long ways gone and have a long ways to go." Hal smiled at the lamplighter who had given him directions to the local inn. A place to bed by the fireplace, that's all he could afford or wanted. He wasn't as old as he was acting, but best that the locals not remember him. He'd been traveling for a day, and with luck, would only have another day before he could arrive home.

How he had ended up a merchant two or three days' travel away from the city he called home, he'd never know. At least now he could resume what he truly loved - stealing. Once he got back to the Guild he'd be able to catch up.

"I could take you to the local herbalist - she surely has herbs to soothe your ache." The lamplighter smiled back, carefully keeping his torch upright as to not light either of them or the nearby building on fire. "Unless you're bothered by the fact she follows Azal." There was a way he motioned, moved his fingers, that told Hal that he was a priest of one of the Dark gods.

Making the recognition sign, he bowed a little. "'Tis not a pain that I would bother a herbalist for." Truthfully, she might be as much a purveyor of poison as healing, and he was not in the market right now.

"Ah." The lamplighter smiled back. "Then, good evening, my friend, and may your travels be prosperous." With that, the lamplighter moved on, and so did Hal.

[personal profile] novel_machinist asked for "OCs and ICE SKATING!!" so I wrote a fic set in a slight AU to "Sloshing Along The River" (which in itself has OCs from a variety of fandoms, including poor Marie Brown!)

Disa and Keegan had never been on an ice rink before. That didn't stop them from trying to chase each other around on ice skates, falling and laughing as if there was no tomorrow.

Marie only wished she could be so carefree.

* * *

Greer waited her chance to skate. She had grown up in Fairbanks and knew how to ice skate, and it felt so terribly nostalgic to have her skates on. Beside her, Michael relaxed; he knew how to skate too.

* * *

Naoko had grown up around ice and snow, but she really hadn't skated in years. Instead of going skating, she watched Nezumi make her way towards Marie.

Hopefully her little sister wouldn't make a scene, like every other time.

* * *

"Not gonna skate?" Nezumi asked casually, grinning in hopes that the other woman might listen to her.

"I'm not that daring," Marie looked at the rink and then at Nezumi, and then back at the rink again.

"Come on, I'll catch your fall!"

* * *

Det could read what Nezumi had in mind, and shook his head. "She's never going to go for it," he said to nobody in particular.

Beside him, Naoko sighed.

* * *

"I think it would not be a good idea if I set the rink on fire," Marie told Nezumi softly. Only the people in her neighborhood knew she was pyrokinetic and prone to set things on fire if she panicked.

She knew from Nezumi's expression that it hadn't put the other woman off one iota.

* * *

Disa and Keegan got to go on the ice several times because the operator had been taken in by their cuteness. Greer had a grin on her face by the time she and Michael went home.

Marie was just glad that she had held to her better judgement and had not set the rink on fire by accident.
