Here’s good old Ocean, with an alternate version of his sister. (Summary: Wataru talks to a confused and upset version of his sister in the hallway. Rated 7+)
Wataru couldn’t help but stop when he saw the other world’s version of his Nee-san; she was standing, staring after a tall young man who had just left, as if she wasn’t sure whether to run to him or ignore him. “Nee-san,” he said, calling to her, but to his surprise, she didn’t respond.
After a moment, he walked up to her. “Nee-san,” he said more firmly, and she finally turned to him.
“Ocean,” she replied absently, still staring after the stranger. Like many others there, he’d ended up with a name to distinguish him from the other Watarus. She seemed to take great pleasure in using it.
“Is something wrong, Nee-san?” Wataru asked. He didn’t acknowledge the name; he never did. It wasn’t him, no matter what his sister – his world’s older sister – said.
“That boy….” His sister – this version of her, anyway – stared in the man’s direction. “He said that Mio was his grandmother… how could I have gone wrong? How could my Queen have loved a human?”
He resisted reminding her that it was very possible for a Fangire to love a human; he existed, after all, despite Fangire law. “Because she did?”
She chose to ignore him, which was normal when it came to his human blood. “He was so ignorant. And running away from me… a male me. Why?”
Wataru shook his head. “I don’t know, Nee-san.”
“I don’t know whether to ignore him or try to fix him….” She was still staring, and Wataru put his hand on her shoulder. “Somebody didn’t love him enough.”
“Nee-san,” he said, and stepped in to hug her. He felt her stiffen slightly in surprise, but soon strong arms were clapsed against him, the worried version of his sister holding him tight. “Let his own fix him.”
That seemed to save a lot of versions of him, anyway, if they were kept away from well-meaning Taigas.
“You’re right,” she said after a moment. “But he’s still Mio’s grandchild. I still have a responsibility to him.”
Wataru could have groaned. “Forget about him, Nee-san,” he suggested gently. “You have your own Queen to worry about. Your own family” He felt sorry for her world’s Mio and Wataru, but there was nothing to be done about it.
“You’re right,” she said. But she still didn’t look convinced. “I should.”
But she didn’t move.
