This entry was posted to both Childfree and to Customers_Suck. Even if you like kids (which the OP doesn't), I think that you'll agree that this lady was nuts.

As someone who's childfree but has the great opportunity to have a lot of responsible, non-crazy parents or parents to be on my FL, I just can't believe that this woman made a fuss over the fact that the cashier didn't compliment her child. As a customer service rep (albeit at a call center), I sometimes make comments over someone's child, but mostly in a light, conversational way. We're not on the phone to discuss peoples' kids, unless the kids have something to do with the account.
What irritates me about this lady is that she presumed that the poster would think the child was cute and would coo over it. Which didn't occur to the poster, who is not a child person and wouldn't automatically think to compliment the baby because he's not that kind of person.
Aggh.
