I've been looking for a decent online mechanical translator to get the gist of some Japanese pages I run across. I added translation.infoseek.co.jp to my translation possibilities. For fun, I grabbed a paragraph or so of text to see how Infoseek came out vs Google. (I came to the conclusion that I'd need to run both to make sense out of the mess.)


Japanese text:
睦月を心配する望美（宮澤亜理沙）はおにぎりを手に再びカジノへ。が、そこにいたのは戦う目的を失い、失意のどん底にいる光だった。光は「なぜお前たちだけが繁栄を謳歌する！」とタイガーアンデッドに変身、望美に怒りをぶつける。しかし、望美は毅然とタイガーを見据えると、あなたも睦月も怖くない、と言い放つ。

Infoseek:

I'm guessing that this is what it meant (based on the fact that I've seen the episode in question):
Nozomi, worried about Mutsuki, goes to the casino (bar?) with rice balls. The disappointed Hikaru, who had lost her purpose, was there. "Why do you prosper?" Hikaru cried. With that, she transformed to Tiger Undead and vented her anger at Nozomi. Nozomi stared at the Tiger, declaring that she didn't fear Mutsuki or the Tigress.

I wish I could say that my grasp of Japanese was improving, but unfortunately it's more a case of meshing the auto-translations and having knowledge of the episode in question. (I can, however, figure out some of the Japanese after looking at the machine translation. "... Anata mo Mutsuki mo....")

I don't know how much use it's going to be if I'm wanting to figure out stuff I'm not familiar with in another way.

I think I'll try it on the Den-o next ep paragraph tonight and see if I can figure that one out.

Um, what? Sorry, I got stuck on "it was the light that the disappointed bottom needed." Am laughing now.
