sonofgodzilla and I have been chatting back and forth
here about
finalauraburst and its future. (
sonofgodzilla started FAB.) One thing that will make the maintainers' job much easier is that we only have to cover our own day; this will save the mod from the day after from having to recap previous days (unless they want to, of course), and feeling obliged to do monster updates (and I don't mean Godzilla & co).
This will mean not as much coverage until people realize less stuff=faster and less stressful to do updates, but hopefully FAB will be back to normal soon.
It sounds like we're reevaluating on whether to cover non-LJ sites, such as the torrent trackers and other sites. I'm pretty sure, however, that fanfiction.net will continue to be covered. The rest of it? We'll have to see.

Date: 2008-05-04 12:20 am (UTC)Though, at the SR, we don't cover some things that you guys do. Like, we tend to leave out LJ fan discussions for the most part, not that we have a lot of them, and those we do tend to be on message boards. We have a 'watchlist' set up of authors/artists/boards/news/etc that we can run through, so it doesn't take too long. Granted, we do a week vs your daily one.
We also don't cover every fic that's posted at ff.net. In general, ff.net fics get mentioned of one of the mods knows of the fic, and was reading it themselves, or if someone emails us. I think it helps that between the four of us, we have the majority of the LJ PR fandom on our flists.
