I'm sure there are some people on my Flist that are happy that I'm posting about a program that doesn't require subtitles. But there are spoilers ahead....

So, Earth is stolen. By what turns out to be Daleks. Poof, one minute Earth is in its correct orbit, the next minute, there are 26 other planets out there and we're plunged into eternal night. Not surprisingly, some people go wild.

Harriet Jones, former Prime Minister, has a plan to get through to the Doctor. (UNIT would love to get a hold of him too.) Thus we get the first canon Doctor Who appearances of the remainder of the Torchwood team, and also Luke from the Sarah Jane adventures. (Jack and Sarah, being former companions, are hardly making their first Doctor Who appearances.) She gets Jack, Sarah, and Martha on the line, and Rose is stuck watching because Donna's mum wouldn't buy a webcam or a microphone. Rhys (Gwen's husband), Maria, her dad, and apparently Clyde are mentioned. I missed Clyde's mention, but then again, I missed it in "Turn Left" as well. Needless to say, the forces are gathering to defeat the Daleks, but the Doctor has gotten himself in a spot of trouble at the end of the episode.

Needless to say, despite the whole glum episode, I was happy to see the cameos by Jack, Sarah, and (part of) their crews. And to see Harriet Jones, who proved to be one of the biggest heroes in this storyline. I presume she's dead, though who knows. (And he's a bit busy at the moment.)

Hopefully the Torchwood team will survive; Luke probably will, having made his obligatory cameo lines. Gwen promising Rhys that she'll come home doesn't bode well, and neither does Sarah's promise to Luke. Though I did spend a moment wondering if Sarah is going to get laid after this whole thing is over- Jack's obliging enough.

This being me, I made four icons. Snag with credit, please, comments are love, don't hotlink.

Sarah's got to come home, there's a season 2 of Sarah Jane Adventures. How can you have that without Sarah Jane?

As for Gwen, I hope not, the Torchwood finale was sad enough.

What really has me going is the last thirty seconds? WTF? Wasn't the whole point of specials instead of a season next year that we wouldn't have that happen??? I guess we'll find out next week, but huh?
