This is a teensy tinsy Kiva ficlet. It's vaguely influenced by a line in 22 and the preview for 23, but I can guarantee that it's AU.
Maya ignored the irritating human with the violin case as he followed her through the park. She had her duty to do, and dragging along a besotted human was not in her plans that day.
The fog became denser, and she stopped. Something was happening, something that she had never seen before, and it was Important. She stood still, letting the human bump into her and say something. She ignored him.
Out of the mist came two children. Children by her standards, at least. A girl in a blue top, white pants and a ponytail laughed as she ran, holding hands with a boy her age in a jacket, jeans, and scarf. At least one of them, she sensed, was part Fangire, probably the result of one of her kind having a little too much fun with their food. At least that's how she hoped it was. Fooling around wasn't against the rules, though Maya thought it was stupid.
The two faded away into the mist as she stood watching them, fading from her senses. A glimpse of the future, perhaps?
It didn't matter. If the parents had broken the rules, the parents would pay. Nothing else disturbed her.
Leaving the human to stare, she continued on her way.
