Now that Reader Traffic's been around for over a month, I thought I'd look at how my fics fared.
1. Wanders Through Time (Kamen Rider Den-O, currently posting) 265 hits/70 visitors
2. Building Family (Power Rangers Ninja Storm) 99 hits/12 visitors
3. Inside Out (Power Rangers Time Force/Wild Force) 93 hits/31 visitors
4. Blushing Bride (Power Rangers Time Force/Wild Force) 80 hits/23 visitors
5. Waiting Period (Power Rangers Time Force/Wild Force) 40 hits/15 visitors
6. Boxed In (Kamen Rider Kiva AU) 39 hits/29 visitors
7. Wallflowers (Power Rangers Ninja Storm) 32 hits/31 visitors
8. Losing Touch (Power Rangers Dino Thunder) 28 hits/12 visitors
9 (tie). En Paco, Flugas (Kamen Rider Kabuto) 13 hits/13 visitors
9 (tie) Over The Borderline (Power Rangers Time Force) 13 hits/6 visitors
Not reflected on the chart above is that all but one fic (one of the Esperanto ones) got at least one hit last month. Clearly, people read everything and anything, eventually.
Looking at the top-ten chart, seven of the top ten were fics I posted were posted 2006 or earlier. They are all Power Rangers, and some of the top hitters are the oldest fics I have on ffn. Positions 3, 4, and 5 are taken up by my Eric/Taylor trilogy, and the only things above it are Wanders Through Time (which was actively posting during the month) and Building Family (17 stories/chapters; even if only a few people hit a few fics, that counts quickly). 6 is Boxed In, which for some reason gets a lot of hits even if it's on page 3 of the Kamen Rider section. It's a darn AU with about forty tons of original characters. Wallflowers also gets an inexplicable number of hits, Losing Touch still gets hit by people looking for Conner/Kira fics, and I'm not sure why Over the Borderline and En Paco edged in.
Some fics have people reading chapters in order; others have people realizing they aren't enjoying the fic in chapter 1. For example, the hit count on the chapters of Building Family is much smoother than the hits on Boxed In, where 20 people hit part 1 where the rest of the chapters have 2-6 hits.
It's interesting to note that two of the fics (Building Family and Wallflowers) in the top ten are fics I wrote with
tptigger.
The fics posting this month should be the rest of "Wanders Through Time" and the fic "Useless Things". In fact, I'm posting the first part (well, parts 1-4 of the LJ posted version in one chapter) of "Useless Things" tonight and the next part of "Wanders" tomorrow. I'm thinking that when I do the evaluation for this month that "Wanders", despite being a set of 200-word fics, will get more hits than the slashy "Useless Things".
