Way Too Much Time On Hands

estiroseKind of end of year fic review, but with the added challenge of memeish stuff.
In all these fics (but one), I've obscured a person's name or pronoun with a name in brackets. See if you can identify either the fic, the characters, and/or the fandom.
1. [John's] mother sat down beside him.
2. "The sun rises in the east, sets in the west," [John] mumbled as he considered his options.
3. [Jane] cradled her child as [John] yawned, his little face reflecting little more than a slight discontent with life.
4. "What's going on?" [John] asked as he came into [Jane's] through the back door.
5. [John] shivered and shrank into a little ball in his guest chambers in the Castle.
6. [John] had to admit that knowing what [Jeff] was in some ways was a great relief.
7. [Jane] knew [John] was a ghost.
8. [Jane] peeked in on the little girl, and nodded in satisfaction as she found the little girl to be sleeping.
9. Nothing ever happened in Hayfork.
10. [John Doe] enjoyed traveling to other countries.
11. [Jane] surveyed the reports & files with a faint air of distaste.
12. "I suppose," [John] said, "That it's just as well that not everything goes to plan."
13. [Jane's] world shattered when her mother did.
14. If there was anything [John] had dreaded for months, it was his wedding day.
15. "[John], [Jane] is bleeding!" The exclamation came from behind a big rock, which John was studiously avoiding peeking behind.
16. [John] looked over at the table where his mother was repairing a violin.
