scifisentai's birthday, except that I was hoping it would be... longer. It's Decade, Yuusuke/Tsukasa, some spoilers for episodes 4-5. Rated 8+
Summary: Tsukasa has a few rough spots, personality-wise.

Yuusuke sometimes wondered what he saw in Tsukasa. The man who was Decade was rough, inconsiderate. Didn't care what anybody thought, didn't care for peoples' smiles.
And yet, there was another side of Tsukasa too. The one that saw the good in scared young princes and fought for people. The one that knew he was hated, but did good anyway.
Someday, Yuusuke and Tsukasa might be on two different sides of the Rider War. Someday, he might have to fight Tsukasa, possibly be killed, possibly kill Tsukasa. He hoped that wouldn't happen.
Because, despite his rough edges, Tsukasa loved and hoped and fought for smiles too. Somewhere in there was a noble man who just wanted to save the universe. And Yuusuke would bring it out, make Tsukasa into the person that the universes needed him to be. Polish the rough gem into a faceted gemstone.
Tsukasa would save the universe. Yuusuke would save Tsukasa. It was as simple as that.
