I don't want to make a poll, but I'm curious.
How do people feel about translations of their work? Do you love them? Hate them? Ever wish someone would?
The reason I ask is sometimes I like to try my hand at translations into Esperanto (and post them on AO3 for the most part), and sometimes I think it would be cool to translate peoples' fics as sort of a birthday present, but I realize that people are a bit touchy about that.
(Personally? I'm flexible about it. But then again, I've been caught by the remix bug, and I am getting really excited about remix, and I love remixing/having my stuff remixed. And translations are a lot less of a change than remixes, I think.)
(And, um... I realize that there might be a difference in how people feel about being translated into a 'real' language as opposed to Esperanto, which is an international auxiliary language, aka a constructed language. Even though Esperanto has native speakers.)
