estiroseThere are things I'm still working on (...goshdarnit), but Remix Revival did author reveals and Fandom Giftbox opened, so I'm just going to quickly (or so) post on it.

Summary:
I'm sure anybody who has subscribed to me on AO3 saw this particular fic, but I thought I might mention it anyway. It's a remix ofthisbluespirit's "Promises", where Sheila has to make a tough choice about saving her party vs getting back home. I was fully intending to remix something in Doctor Who (which is what I matched on) or Sapphire and Steel, but I just decided randomly to read "Promises" and well... I wrote fic.
While I didn't get the old woman's full story, her name is Angela and she did something similar to Sheila in that she had to sacrifice what she desired in order to save her people. Obviously she liked Sheila as she named her kid after her!
Also, I blanked on the name of the actual jewel in the beginning and had to rapidly fix it after reveal, oops.
Trivia:
Gamlett is kind of a shortened form of "old skeleton" in Swedish (Gamla skelett).
The stories that Angela mentions are mostly Final Fantasy canon - "Sarah and the Terrible Chaos" is related to Final Fantasy I, "How Gordon Found His Courage" is Final Fantasy II, and "Luca and her Dolls" is Final Fantasy IV. "Ingus and the Room from Another World" is a reference to "And If You Believe", which is Sapphire and Steel kind of crossovered with Final Fantasy III.

For Remix Madness, I did two things I'd never done before: Remixed from art and wrote in Dragon Age: Inquisition! SQBR and I both lurk in Magical Diary fandom, and I thought I'd be remixing one of the two Magical Diary pieces. But I liked the idea of Marijn Cadash (and managed to run across the notes on the Marijn playthrough), and I love romancing Josephine, so I ended up writing fic. I had to go check several playthroughs for the dialogue between the two of them and also the dwarf Inquisitor background since I didn't have time to get it all. The title came from a line that the Herald utters early on in the Josephine romance.

This time, Rie wants adventure, so Haruna decides now is a good time to get that done.

This wasn't originally intended to be posted outside Fandom Giftbox, but I just got it up. Morbane wanted human/dragon interaction, so I wrote 660 words of good friends (and potential spouses, once Cindro's sister Reika thuds the two of them on the head a couple of times because they're so dense). She seems to be okay with it going up on AO3, so it's on AO3.
On the receiving end, the Kamen Rider Drive fic from Remix Revival was written by Revieloutionne, which I'd previously guessed. The Mulan ficlet was written by snowynight, who needs to write more of Mei.
I got two gifts for Fandom Giftbox: a set of Starman (TV) icons from tarlanx, and a small Sae and Yae Fatal Frame II ficlet from secretstaircase.
