I’ve been involved in NaNoWriMo for four years now, and it looks like I’ll be writing again this year.
That being said, I was inspired by a discussion on a post about publishing and non-traditional works to think about what I wanted to do with my NaNoWriMo stuff. 2010 will be my 5th year participating in the thing.
Here were my novels from the last four and likelihood of getting them published:
2006: Discovering The Sun: Unabashedly Kamen Rider Kabuto fanfic. It’s one of my most-beloved pieces. Obviously not going for professional publishing on this one! It goes in Ghostly.
2007: Sloshing Along The River: This was written in someone else’s universe (I hope she gets published!), so publishing it is out. I am thinking of releasing it on ghostly – it is all OCs of random fandoms, after all!
2008: Late Bloomer: Original fic that suffers by having energy vampires in it. Not that it’s immediately obvious. This one’s going to ABNA 2011 after some revision and time to write a decent pitch. Maaaybe if ABNA takes self-pubs again I’ll ebook this one.
2009: Delicate Appendages: I was going to try to go pro with this one, but it’s too out there. I’m revising it and putting it out under Creative Commons as well as ebook (epub and Kindle). I could use a tough beta but I’m not sure where to find one.
2010’s going to be a modern fantasy novel involving three kids and a statue. That’s about it.
