Short little fic, Rook universe. Nao-centric.
Nao looked up at the not-sound of her King appearing in her living room and scowled, though not anywhere Taiga could see it. By the time Taiga appeared, she was closing one of her books. "Taiga," she said, selecting his name instead of his title or the term he prefer she use, "You know it's dangerous to have my books and my King in the same place."
He didn't seem deterred, however. "I wish you'd take an apartment downstairs like Wataru does."
She knew all too well that if she ever did that, she would be giving up what little privacy she did have. Wataru had told her multiple times that while he loved Taiga, he wished Taiga would let him use his own bed.
Now that Taiga had a big enough bed to fit all four of them without compromising Taiga's attempts to get his Queen pregnant, Nao knew her days alone were numbered. Taiga would not tolerate his Bishop living away from the rest of the family, just like he'd made his Rook part of it.
He held her close, and she could feel him kiss the back of her head. Her King was most definitely touchy-feely. "It's time to come to dinner," he murmured into her hair. "Don't make Mio upset."
She doubted that Mio cared. Mio valued her privacy as much as she and Wataru did, and there was an unspoken agreement between the two women that they wouldn't rock the boat.
"I won't," Nao promised. She didn't want Taiga upset.
"Let's go," Taiga said gently, turning her around and enveloping her in his arms.
She closed her eyes as they teleported out.
