Only this last post on Yuletide noms....
Nov. 13th, 2011 06:21 pmIt went pretty well, actually. My Final Fantasy II nom got approved first (which is not hard, because if there's more than about 40 pieces of fic floating about for the game, I'd be surprised). Forever Knight went second, and it took a while, but Gokaiger got approved, too.
There was one person who checked neither the "planning to nominate" post or the "confirmed nominations" post, so they unfortunately duplicated most of my nominees for Forever Knight. For Gokaiger, the person checking the noms was clearly checking Wikipedia/TvTropes rather than how people were tagging on AO3 itself, because Gai's name was put in western, First-Last instead of the correct Last-First order (that is, they filed him as Gai Ikari instead of Ikari Gai). This is understandable, because he's the only main character whose name goes in that order (everybody else's uses western). Admittedly, his wanted poster has his name in Western order, but that may be the Zangyack Empire getting confused as well. I don't know if there's going to be a correction post, but I might mention that.
(There are worse things. Izumi Shingo and Ankh from Kamen Rider OOO have a merged character tag on the archive, even though they're two different characters, and nobody's gone to fix it. I might drop a note at some point when we're not doing Yuletide.)
Not nomination related, but I'm trying to figure out how to tell the people who basically pulled an old archive for one of my fandoms into AO3 that "Family Relationship" in the relationship entry... well, it doesn't mean what they think it means (they think "family", the meaning is more or less "incest", which doesn't fit the fics in question). This is going to be fun.

Date: 2011-11-14 03:28 am (UTC)Hi! I'm a tag wrangler and went to look at Kamen Rider OOO. None of the Kamen Riders actually have wranglers assigned to them, but I'll go ahead and assign myself to OOO and try to unmerge those. :)

Date: 2011-11-14 04:21 am (UTC)Coding is awesome! I haven't gotten confident enough to actually tackle archive coding yet, but I'm looking forward to it!
