In a future-set post, Leo met Gentarou again and discovered the plumbing might have become sentient. Here is Mio's email to her friend Marie.

Leo and I saw each other this weekend at the school. I can tell you that he's doing fine and seems to be turning out to be quite the mage. He keeps talking about magical enhancement of mechanical devices, which is more your field than mine, I'm afraid. I'm sure that he will be emailing you about it.
Apparently the nexus in our old school caused the plumbing to become sentient, but Leo had a talk with it and it agreed to behave as long as he promised to visit every so often. I think it wants someone to talk to that can fix it if needed. I think that his talent, other than the movement all of his kind of mage specialize in, is dealing with anything mechanical.
I hope you can visit here someday, or at least come for enjoyment instead of keeping the world from being destroyed as you had to last time. I think Leo would like to meet you too.
