Seriously? Not helping your cause.

Apparently there's a boycott of ffn coming up soon. I know this because some idiot sent me a PM about it. I'm not sure why someone, having read my profile, would think that I was using the site. (I am, to some extent, but it's 99% deleting fics - I'm doing one every three days - with reading 1-2 fics a week that only are on ffn.)
Frankly, I'm getting sick of the whole ffn boycott thing. I don't like what the management is doing (which is why my plan of "delete most of my fics" went to "delete all of my fics"), but there's a better way to get sympathy than PMing random people who may or may not be sympathetic to one's cause, and updating ones story with chapters that aren't stories but boycott requests. I don't like Critics United or Literate Union, either, but it's the protesters that are causing problems.
It's like one of our local Carpenters' unions that has a history of going after companies peripheral to the boycott; they've been protesting at the real estate development office downstairs from my office because it happens to own the land that is going to be built upon by a construction company that may or may not use union labor. I have no problem with going to the construction company, but if you're going to protest successfully, you need to keep third parties from being more irritated at you than the people you're opposing!
