I went to Morphicon! I really didn't announce it here, but people that share friends with me probably saw me making comments on other peoples' posts. (Con was so-so; could have done with way better organization regarding a lot of things.) I flew in to the area on Thursday, and tptigger was kind enough to give me a ride from LAX to my aunt and uncle's place where I was staying. Friday, I had lunch in Los Angeles with a colleague from work who was willing to drive two hours to meet me there. I got to meet a drink that I love very much but is kind of sweet and fattening. We spent a lot of time talking and finding out that we had a lot in common, including connections to Los Angeles.

Saturday I went to con. Due to some glitches, I showed up at 8 (because that's what the website said) and picking up packets opened at 9. Oops. At least some kind person on the staff let us in if we squashed next to the windows. I was very happy to see geek parents there with their just as geeky kids. Talked to a nice guy named Brian (not Rowe) while I was waiting outside; he'd started watching with MMPR when he was 10. I feel old. Chris Funaro was handling packet hand-out for Saturday-only preregistrations, so I finally got to meet him in person, at which point I found out he'd met mandolin and confirmed we are not each other. (Chris and I were both at the first Morphicon but never met up, and I had to miss the second because certain ultimate bosses being extreme idiots.) Left around 3 because of running out of spoons/actions, and went home. Missed a fan get-together because around the time I found out, the relatives I had were already making dinner and even though they were willing to take me over there, they had enchiladas. The enchiladas won out, because they were delicious.

(I did enjoy the Pretty and Powerful panel, as well as the Lost Galaxy one and the one panel with SPD and RPM folks. And I know whose autographs I want if they showed up next time. Would have bought them this year except I basically had to do this on a shoestring budget. Next year, I want Royce Herron's and Mike Gin's.)

Went to breakfast with a bunch of other people that I mostly know by screen name/nick and still have to get straight who they are, but did meet up with for sure tptigger, mandolin, germankitty (and son), thesecondbatgirl and rivulet027. Of these, I'd met tptigger and germankitty before, I'd met mandolin in person for the first time (we've only shared fandoms for like 15 years and I blame her and Pell for me getting into Zeta Project, which I should start writing fanfic for sometime when I get a chance to review canon) and rivulet027 during the con. Was kind of thinking of hitting church, but that didn't quite happen. Sunday was mostly lazing about, calling my mom long-distance, and discussing things with my aunt.

Monday I had breakfast with tptigger, who was kind enough to take me back to the airport since we were using the same airline and were in the same gate area, and it's very nice to have someone to grouse your hate of TSA to. (And we plotted fic. Be afraid. Be extremely afraid.)

Apart from the craziness which is Southwest's side of LAX (lesson learned: print boarding passes before getting there, and expect delays) on Monday morning, I really had a good trip.


While I was cooling my heels yesterday, I decided to pop about 40-80 old PR fics eventually up on AO3. I apologize in advance to anyone following me there, because I'm doing them two a day for the next month or so. These will be followed by a bunch of Fatal Frame fics. The reason behind this is because I think I scared my last remixer for remix_redux and I'd like to, like, not scare my next one, so they get the URL for my remixable pr fics on AO3. This should be enough for them to work with without them screaming in terror.

Which reminds me, I'm putting the Inside Out fics up tonight.

Otherwise, I'm trying to convince Andros-muse to stop being an idiot and get a whole host of Fatal Frame II muses to kindly stop doing this AU I have no time to write.
