Challenge: Letters to past selves
Sep. 22nd, 2011 10:09 amThis isn't a challenge I've picked up (consciously) from elsewhere. I was having a talk with someone and was reminded of an exercise a therapist had me do a couple of years ago to try to raise my self-esteem in the middle of a depressive episode.
(What I learned from that was not quite what the therapist intended, but that's a longer story.)
Anyway, here's the challenge: take a character. Write a letter from them to a past self, or a letter to them from a future self, and post it.
Mine is under cut, to save friendslists. It follows up "Lying Naked", but you don't need to read that for this (and might not want to, because it deals with dubcon). The writer is Ikari Gai. I'll write a summary later.
( Inventory as Avoidance Tactic, or Advice to a Younger Self )
