estirose: Mio Amakura looking worried as Mayu sounds like Sae. (Mayu is creepy behind Mio - Fatal Frame)
Summary: Mio adopts Miku, because they both need a sibling.
Notes: Spoilers for the canon endings of Fatal Frame I and II, and vague ones for the Photograph ending of Fatal Frame III. Mio is the hardest of the protagonists for me to write (I prefer Miku and Rei), so I'm hoping I got her right.

"That's the thing you really don't think about during an apocalypse. How it's going to, like, affect your ability to be normal, ever again. Do you think we've just… forgotten… how to be normal?"
- Sam Yao, "Zombies, Run!"

So, new fandom! I picked this up so that I could write it for Yuletide (though given I'm at mission 9 of 23, chances are that I'm going to be more likely doing treats in it). It's an iOS/Android game where you move, and a story unfolds while you do so - part game, part radio play. The intention is that you run, but I'm walking. Basically, you are Runner 5 of Abel Township, a colony of people who survived a Zombie apocalypse, and you're sent on various missions to help improve the town and other things. Quoted above is Sam Yao, probably one of the people you'll be hearing the most, and I have yet to meet a Z,R! fan who dislikes him.

This ficlet is set mid-9, which means major spoilers. Since Runner 5's gender is never specified (after all, *you* are Runner 5), I've left the gender vague here.
