I am tired, but happy.
Nov. 29th, 2012 08:55 pmMy cousin found the remote for the secondhand TV! It doesn't have its back battery panel door anymore, but it works! Admittedly, I only needed it to turn up the darn brightness on the TV.
(I love how Fatal Frame II's backgrounds look now that I have the brightness up, and if anything, the ghosts are scarier now that I can actually see them. It figures.)
My aunt dropped off my Christmas present (and took me to dinner). I suspect I know what it is, and I'm quite happy that she gave it to me if it is.
Of course, now I have a slightly different, non-video-game obsession. My grandfather wrote a long letter to the governor of the state he was living in back in the early 1940s, regarding anti-Japanese sentiment and Japanese-Americans. Nobody in my family knew about it until I ran across a reference to it today in somebody's article. Apparently someone has archives, somewhere, and his letter was retained (as was the response). Fortunately, I think that I know which archive. Next trip, I can tell, is going to be there.
