Kind of a random memish thing.
Nov. 30th, 2012 06:30 pmIn other words, I'm bored waiting for something to finish up on my computer, so I did a variation on a few AO3 memes. In this case, I looked at all fandoms with 4 or more fics to them and then looked to see what the top fic was. Here's all fandoms where I have 4+ fics on AO3:
Doctor Who (1963): Noble Little Boxes, 150 hits (Challenge: Remix Redux)
Earth: Final Conflict: For All The Flaws, 271 hits (Challenge: Yuletide)
Final Fantasy II: The Necessity of Heroes, 74 hits (Challenge: none)
GARO: Deciphering the Circuit Diagram, 112 hits (Challenge: none)
Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: Burden of a Cradle, 296 hits (Challenge: none)
Kamen Rider 555: Falanta, 76 hits (Challenge: none)
Kamen Rider W/Double: All Things In Time, 267 hits (Challenge: Yuletide)
Kamen Rider Kiva: The Unstuck Country, 241 hits (Challenge: Finish-a-thon)
Kamen Rider OOO: Also Serve, 114 hits (Challenge: none)
Power Rangers Dino Thunder: Keeping Up Appearances, 291 hits (Challenge: none)
Power Rangers Ninja Storm: The One Left Out, 284 hits (Challenge: Remix Redux)
Power Rangers RPM: The Dreamt-of Call, 437 hits (Challenge: none)
Power Rangers Time Force: Breeze Twice Blown, 187 words (Challenge: none)
Starman (TV): Rain, Rain, Go Away, 170 hits (Challenge: Yuletide)
The Tomorrow People (1992): Something More In Common, 102 hits (Challenge: none)
Zero/Project Zero/Fatal Frame: From Whose Hands We Never Quite Escape, 44 hits (Challenge: none)
I expected more of my top-hit stories would be from challenges, but that isn't actually true. I did a lot of challenging of myself, actually! Some of them are crossovers ("The Necessity of Heroes", "Keeping Up Appearances", "Breeze Twice Blown", "Something More in Common"), which would account for their hit count. If I had included all of the Fatal Frame series fics in one group, the actual highest hit would be "In The Last Remaining", a Fatal Frame II fic with 67 hits.
Possibly the most surprising top hit is "Falanta", the Esperanto-language translation of "Falling". It outdoes the original fic, and I'm not sure why.
I can tell that in 2013, I want to focus on "Burden of a Cradle", "The Unstuck Country", and "The Dreamt-of Call". Just to get them done. There are others I want to finish too.
