So, I have no control.

First part of Fatal Frame III. Got myself a new icon for III as well!
I'm playing blind - I'm going to do a LP of this one - uploading it to Youtube. I may be doing it by virtue of a very wacky setup, but I'll be LPing it. It'll help when I get a slightly different setup, which will hopefully fix some of my filming-the-screen issues.
Anyway, for some reason my controls are weird and Rei has a bad tendency to move when I don't want her to. This is in addition to them moving the "camera up" button from X to Triangle, which means that I am continually hitting the wrong button to raise the camera!
I got through the initial section, which was moving Rei about in the black-and-white initial daydream. Luckily for me, I wandered the correct way and got through that part. It was just a tad nervewracking, because at one point there's a knife-wielding maniac, and Rei with no Camera Obscura! It was like the running scenes with Kirie and Sae, except it was in the beginning of the game, and I know the knife-wielding maniac is not the boss.
It was, however, no less terrifying when he floated after me very fast and I was hoping against hope that I did manage to open the door. Which I thankfully did.
Got through that, got through the cutscene with Reika chasing Rei (I didn't recognize the cutscene at first, so it was a bit scary because I couldn't move Rei), and then the cutscene with Miku. She seems a bit different, and I can't figure out why.
After that, we went to the whole "Rei formally entering the manor" scene, in which I was facepalming. Seriously, Rei, you couldn't have walked the other bloody way instead of taking me with you?
Started chapter 1, which consisted of me exploring a bunch of connected rooms, then wandering around lost, seeing the mother and daughter, wandering around lost some more, and then finding my way upstairs to get the Camera Obscura. I explored a tiny bit further before realizing that I'd been going for 20 minutes (not counting the time I had to switch my memory cards because I and II take up so darn much space).
