Turning to dust

So, I played again tonight and sent Rei to bed and back to dreams of the Mansion. This time, she chased after the red-shirt woman. I really should have checked the room where I ran across mother and daughter, but I didn't. :(
This time, I followed Red-shirt into this room with a staircase. Which lead to a room with two staircases after I followed her up. Getting to where she was required chasing down a picture location, or rather a ghost that I thought would attack me but didn't. Got a picture of said ghost and headed back up.
Only to have a run in with Wandering Mother, of course. So, fought her, saved at the lantern nearby and headed off to find the woman.
Her name is Yoshino Takigawa, a fact I knew from watching playthroughs but we actually get her name here. She wants to be woken up. At which point, Rei awakens from her dream and goes downstairs. Miku isn't there, but she leaves a note saying that she's doing some research, and by the way she left breakfast. Alas, Rei apparently never eats it.
Miku calls a short bit later to let Rei know that Yoshino is in a coma at the local hospital. Rei goes there, is about to wake her up when she sees patterns all over Yoshino's skin. She panics, about to get a nurse, and suddenly, Yoshino is gone and all that's left is black soot.
Which corellates with the clipping that came with Yuu's report. So, the mother and daughter are apparently named too.
I think I'm going to go back and redo the sequence, check out that hearth room, and then go chase after Yoshino. One of my problems is that I turned down the brightness too low, and then it became so much like the first time I played Fatal Frame, which was Not Fun.
