It’s a Nao-heavy fic. I’ll follow up with a Nao and Hiroto fic at some point.
Summary: Taiga finally puts his foot down regarding where Nao lives.
To Give Up, and Wish the Difference

“You’re moving. Now.” Taiga looked at his Bishop firmly. “I’ve purchased you an apartment near Wataru’s, and you’ll get your things together and move there. Order of the King.”
Nao winced. She hadn’t wanted this, not at all, but apparently Taiga had decided she’d dawdled too long.
“Hiroto – our son – is coming up this weekend, we’ll all pitch in and help.” Taiga tapped his fingers impatiently. “I need you close to me, Nao. And I’ll make sure your records are safe.”
Nao had met Hiroto once – and he seemed to be as avoidant of Taiga as she wanted to be. She stared up at Taiga; she wondered why he didn’t seem to realize King and Bishop and records together was a really bad idea. “But King….” She adjusted her glasses.
“That’s my final word on the matter. You live too far away, and you’re too absentminded. I want you safe and secure.”
She sighed. What he really wanted was more kids and a Bishop who couldn’t get away. At least she could travel on business and get some breathing room.
But that was not going to happen, apparently. At least not until she could argue him out of it.
“Yes, Beloved,” she said, bowing her head.
Taiga smiled. “You’ll like it, I know it,” he said gently. “You don’t have to be alone anymore, Nao.”
How Taiga had ended up with a Rook, Queen, and Bishop that all liked their alone times, Nao didn’t know. But like the others, she was ready to give up the fight.
“Besides, Bishop living in-house will be good for our future kids,” Taiga said. “You can’t imagine how much Hiroto made me worry….”
Nao was sure of that. Taiga worried about everybody. She resolved to talk to Hiroto at some point to see if she could get any pointers from him.
“Plus, you can lend your weight,” Taiga said, frowning a little. “He… doesn’t seem to be interested in getting married….”
“I’ll see what I can do, Beloved,” Nao said, bowing. She was not looking forward to the weekend.
