Yearly ficspam….
Jun. 11th, 2010 09:53 pmThis year, I decided to do things a bit differently. All my 2010 unbirthday ficspam fics are on Ghostly, and I’m putting them all in one post. If you want to comment on them but don’t feel comfortable doing that on Ghostly, please feel free to comment on this post.
So, here are the fics:
But Going Home Alone (PRiS): Ashley doesn’t really want to go to Earth. Set very end of series.
Camping, Again (Final Fantasy II PSP): Maria reflects on events, and broods on her brother. Spoilers for most of the Final Fantasy II storyline.
Even That Doesn’t Matter (KR Kiva, Trapped universe): Taiga is happy that Mio is happy. Slight mention of incest.
Heard and Then Seen (Earth: Final Conflict/New Series TP): William Boone hears a voice in the darkness. Set late season 1, slightly AU.
Rescuing from his Wounded Self (KR Kiva, Ocean universe): Wataru obviously needs rescuing, according to his older sister. Set in a slightly alternate early 40s storyline.
Time Travel as a Common Thing (KR Kiva, with guests): Masao explains things to some travelers.
Waiting in the Hallway (Shinkenger): Takeru waits for the moment to come. Set episode 48.

Date: 2010-06-13 01:19 am (UTC)That said, my GOD. The Masao prompt you did for me was fabulous, and all of these fics were pretty dang great, but you seriously blindsided me with the Final Fantasy II fic. You have no idea how much I adore you for that one right now.
By the way, the FFII fic works fine with the plot of every version of the game, except possibly the original 1988 NES one; starting with the PlayStation 1 re-release in 2002, it's kept the exact same translation through the years. I'm pretty sure the overall plot wasn't changed at all from the NES one either, just the minor details like some character name spellings. The only real changes with each version have just been graphical, though the Game Boy Advance ports added a post-game sidequest I never started (because I never beat the game; stinking Pandaemonium and that floor full of Lamias that petrify you).
