And I think he'll respect that, at least a bit. At least for her mother's sake. What does she do afterwards? She probably will want to get somewhere hard to find as soon as possible, if not somewhere safe.

Does Chiyo know that he's interested in her for her connection to Makoto? How close is she with him? I'm sure he loves her a lot, at least.
