I finally got my first downloaded script from the internet working. It's a script called eFiction 1.1 (Which I know altrn8realities uses for her own stuff), and I've started to successfully uploaded a fic to it.

Sure, I haven't got all the kinks worked out of it. It's using the default skin, and I have yet to figure out how to turn login/non-admin account creation *off*, since I'm going to not be running a large fanfic archive, per se, and I don't want everybody and their sister creating an account on my archive. (There's supposed to be a setting, but it's not working.)

But eventually I'll be able to take it public. It may even take over my original archive. You never know.

I've actually gotten good with skinning this one. If you want it skinned and don't have the time, I'll be happy to do it for you :)

I did manage to figure out some of it (while trying to get my brain to accept that I have to start getting up again before 6), and I managed a clumsy variation on the default skin. However, my skills are basic HTML, so I'll gladly accept any help I can get. :) I'll be in touch with you later.

Have you tried the Forums at the Efiction site (http://orodruin.sourceforge.net) for help with this? Sometimes there's something quirky on your server in, and usually Rebecca or someone over there can figure it out what it is by looking at the PHP info. I'm still touch and go with PHP, or else I'd offer :)

It was a matter of the right setting and (eventually) taking login off the templates.

Forums. Very handy things. :)
