Looking at Strangers (KR Kiva)
Jul. 16th, 2010 08:54 pmThis is a Kamen Rider Kiva fic. Surprisingly, it’s actually canon. It takes place just prior to 32, where Taiga hasn’t met up again with Wataru.
Summary: Taiga thinks about his life, and Wataru.

Taiga leaned on the railing, watching the humans go by. He was so alone, with nobody really there for him. Okay, Bishop was loyal enough, and so was Kurosawa, but they weren’t really friends. They were adults, mentors, people much, much older than he was.
He remembered when he was little. How he’d hated being with Shima, and how the man seemed so willing to make Taiga’s life painful. The man didn’t understand he couldn’t eat, after all. He was sure he’d have been rescued if Bishop had known where he was, but his mother had been crafty, in putting him with a human.
Humans. So weak and so useless, except as food. Taiga wished that his kind could be open, but Bishop had explained patiently why they couldn’t, and Taiga generally trusted Bishop to have good ideas. Of course, there were exceptions; his friend Wataru, growing up, had been an excellent human. A bit weak, yes, but it had never annoyed him. Wataru was just like any other human when it came to strength. Plus, Wataru had been so kind, and Taiga had been moved to protect him. Wanted to protect him even now.
He wondered how Wataru was. Had he started a family? Had kids? Fallen in love? Did he remember Taiga at all? He might not.
But Taiga remembered Wataru.
He silently wished his friend well. Hoped his friend was safe. Hoped he remembered Taiga.
But Taiga remembered Wataru, and that’s all that mattered.
