He bet he was the only sheet-clad corpse running around on the Parisian streets.

He bumped into the woman as they both passed the Port Charles Hotel, making her drop her packages onto the sidewalk.

Her clothes were falling out of her bag again.

She was too young, far too young, to die.

Wade stared at the remains of the glass door in the early morning light, removing slivers of glass from her jacket.

It had been a long day.

"Come with me," the girl said.

Would I be right in thinking the first one's from a Highlander story?

*grins* And I couldn't let this go by without having a go... And hey, it's almost drabble sized this time!!!


She was too young, far too young to die.

Yet, that was what the unwavering blaster being aimed squarely at her chest suggested was going to happen.

"We don't have to do this," she said, surprising herself with the calmness in her voice.

"Oh, I think we do," he answered.

"You're going to regret this," she said. "Strike me down and I will become more powerful than you can ever imagine."

The blaster point dropped and he started to laugh. "Alice," he said as best he could for laughter, "you can't turn everything into a Star Wars recitation."

Alice grinned. "No-one said anything about making my opponent laugh. All I had to do was disarm him." She grabbed the near forgotten blaster. "And guess what? I just did."
