These two ficlets (one just a tad too long to be a drabble) came to me and refused to go away. They both have spoilers for/occur during episode 22, though one is more spoilery than the other.
This is the more spoilery one:
Title: Revival in G Minor
Author: Estirose
Series: Kamen Rider Kabuto
Rating: 8+
Spoilers: Episode 22
Summary: One calls. The other answers.
Kagami awoke.
But wait, wasn't he dead? Hadn't the Worm killed him, the Worm that had imitated Makoto, and the one who had imitated him?
Maybe he wasn't dead yet, though he hurt. He struggled up, knowing he had to do something before the imposter walked out in his form. With Makoto. He regretted his foolish desire to save the boy; now the Worms would use his identity, his brashness, to infiltrate ZECT.
He felt metal at his waist. Metal - a belt. A Zecter's belt. The same type of belt he'd worn when he'd tried to become Kabuto's host, and again when he tried to become Gatack's host. He didn't know how it had gotten on him, but that wasn't important now.
Something stirred at the back of his mind. A connection. He frowned. A sense of waiting, of readiness. An assurance that help would be there. A wanting to come and tear things apart.
Gatack Zecter. He could feel it, finally having approved of him as its host.
He got up, limped through the factory. Soon, the two impostors, the two Worms in mimic were in front of him. He looked at his own back, of Makoto's, and put Makoto's toy down.
The two turned around at the sound. He limped forward, telling them exactly what he thought of them.
And then he reached out his hand, reached out with his mind, calling for Gatack, hoping that the connection wasn't all part of his dying mind but was a real connection.
Seconds later, he heard the tinkle of glass as something flew into his hand. Gatack. He knew what to do. He knew everything he needed to know. And what he didn't, Gatack would tell him.
He slid the Zecter into its place in the belt.
And changed. Felt alive.
This one just really needs one to have seen episode 21, but it takes place in 22.
Title: Patheticness
Author: Estirose
Series: Kamen Rider Kabuto
Rating: 8+
Spoilers: Episode 21, mild for 22
Summary: He was pathetic.
Pathetic.
That's what he was, pathetic. Kagami knew that for sure now.
He'd desperately tried to become Gatack's Chosen One, Gatack's host. And where had that landed him? In the hospital.
In the hospital, where he couldn't save Makoto from the Worms or from ZECT.
He wondered if they'd wait until they found Makoto's burned body before they'd admit he was right.
But no, he couldn't allow that to happen! He had to save Makoto. If he hurried, he could save the boy.
He sat up, looked around, and started taking the IV off.
He just hoped he had time.
